COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY

 Contest is open to instrumentalists:  piano, strings [including harp & classical guitar], woodwinds, brass, harpsichordists, ensemble & voice (opera) of all nationalities and countries.

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS

  Submit ONLY  ONE  VIDEO  total for your entry.  The entry video can be from any of the following periods (CHOOSE ONLY ONE  ENTRY TOTAL FROM ONLY ONE PERIOD) below:

  • Baroque era (1600–1750)
  • Galant music era (1720s–1770s)
  • Classical era (1750–1820)
  • Romantic era (c.1800–c.1910)
  • Modern Classical (up to present time)

COMPETITION ROUNDS

 The competition is divided into a preliminary round (initial screening) and a final round.
Both rounds are online.  (The same entry video is used for final round).  *Please note that King's Peak International Music Competition receives numerous talented worldwide entries, and a large percent will be cut and not make it to final round. If you are not a finalist, keep striving and practicing & try to enter another time.

PRELIMINARY (FREE ENTRY)


  • Participants are required to submit a video recording of their performance (YouTube link)  on our page titled "Free Entry"
  • Ensembles are two or more musicians performed live..  
  • The videos recorded on the You Tube link  have to be  under 12 months old from the date of your entry.  Please submit a video that has not been entered in previous competition
  • Time Limit of Entry is up to approximately 30 minutes of a continuous performance (the minimum time is up to the musician).
  • The  video recordings (audio only is not acceptable) must be solely performed by  applicant. Videos cannot be edited, No effects should be added to any portion of video entry (it is acceptable to have an introduction title with musician's name, title of piece and composer).  The musician may have an accompaniment to their entry if desired.
  • Please include in the title of the video the words:  "King's Peak International Music Competition".  The description of video should also include the musician's name, composer, and title of piece.
  • You Tube video(s) should have the proper settings:
    YouTube  Video Manager → videos → Basic Info → from the drop-down menu,  select "Public" or "Unlisted". Do not select  "Private".  If your video  is "Private" we cannot review your entry.
  •  Contestants approved to advance will participate in the competition with the same piece submitted for the initial screening.
  • Only those who are selected in the qualifying round (initial screening) are entitled to advance to the final round (the same entry video is used for both rounds).


INVITATION & APPLICATION (FINAL ROUND)

 

  • The approved contestants will receive an email notification/invitation containing instructions on how to apply. Only the contestants who pass the qualifying round (initial screening) can advance to the final round.
  • Email notifications will be sent according to the competition schedule  (see Competition Schedule section above). 
  • The  Application Form along  and proof of payment of the administrative processing fee of $102.80 USD on Paypal (If you are a finalist and pay the administrative fee then you will place in the contest & find out what place when winners are announced).  This should be  submitted according to the competition schedule.  See Competition  Schedule section above.
  • Please confirm correct name and spelling for the certificate and winners on website and social media in English characters.
  • Parents approve use of minors name on website and social media
  •  Approve KPIMC to post winning video on youtube and social media
     

AWARDS

 

  • Multiple awards will be given in each age category. 
  •  Special Certificates can be awarded as well within a category.  Ex. Voice category - 1st place Soprano or 1st place Baritone etc.  or Ex. Strings -  1st Place Violin or First Place Cello etc.
  • The winners will receive certificates. 
  • The winners will be posted on the website and social media (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Winners photo and bio will be posted on our website.
  •  We offer special acknowledgement of select  winners on Facebook & Instagram.
  • Esteemed Jury Members for  Scholarships for private Master Classes available to select winners.
  • Winners can receive Winner's medal for additional fee. 

 

  iClassical Academy prizes for the new competition ( 15 years old and above)  (available upon request)


  • 25% off on all plans available upon request)
  •  1st prize winners honored with a six months subscription for iClassical (The 1st prizes are offered to first prize winners from 15 years old and above who play the violin, cello, trumpet, and piano) (available upon request)


JURY/JUDGING

  • The decision of the Jury is final and can’t be appealed. 
  • The Esteemed Jury is composed of qualified musicians and teachers.
  • The awards will be based solely on the video You Tube link submitted
