2025 Fall Competition Winner - BRASS
1- Aleksander Kaczor, POLAND Trumpet Group C
Aleksander Kaczor is 12 year old trumpet player. He began learning to play the trumpet at the age of seven in Henryk Wieniawski Music School in Poznań. He participated in many competitions in Poland and also abroad.
1- Patryk Skuła, POLAND Euphonium Group F
I began my musical education at the Music School in Myszków playing the trumpet, later continuing at the Secondary Music School in Częstochowa on euphonium. After four years, I moved to the Music School in Leszno in 2022. In 2023, I was admitted to the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, studying with Mateusz Kurek. I have collaborated with the National Brass Orchestra in Lubin and the Sudecka Philharmonic. I participated in numerous international workshops, including CORNO 2024, Tuba and Euphonium Symposiums in Poznań, Żywiec Trombone Festival, Brass Academy Kalisz, and Low Brass Days Riga. I currently perform with three orchestras in Leszno, Środa Wielkopolska, and Orchestra Maestoso Wschowa.
2025 Spring Competition Winner - BRASS
1- Steven Cohen, USA Horn Group G
Steven Cohen has been heard internationally as a solo, orchestral, Broadway and chamber musician. Hailing from New York, he is in demand as a recital soloist, and has been a featured and guest artist at numerous horn events throughout the world. A proponent for the creation of new music, Cohen, together with his NU CORNO Ensemble, an international horn ensemble, he has commissioned over 50 works for the horn over the last decade. His love of the horn extends far beyond being a performer. As a lecturer, Cohen has presented scholarship at the national and international level.
2024 Fall Competition Winner - BRASS
1- AC Caruthers, USA Horn
AC Caruthers is pursuing a B.M. in Horn Performance with a minor in General Business and a certificate in Music Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. She actively contributes to the College of Music through organizations like the Dean’s Student Advisory Council and the College of Music Board of Advisors. Her achievements include winning the 2024 Southeast Horn Workshop High Horn Competition and performing at the International Women’s Brass Conference. Additionally, she has participated in summer music festivals such as Prague Summer Nights and the National Music Festival.

Noah is currently a junior in high school in Taipei. He has been the principal horn of several city ensembles and has won countless concerto competitions and solo performance awards in his horn career.

Polish trumpeter, orchestral musician. Winner of the 1st place in the International Music Competition OPUS 2024 in Krakow. Second place winner in the International Wind Instruments Competition ,,Finalis” 2019 in Bialystok. Participant of the Erasmus+ project ,,International Wind Orchestra – Music Beyond Borders” Bari 2024. First trumpeter of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow. Founder of the band ,,High Tune” performing music for trumpet and organ. Student of the Academy of Music in Krakow in the class of Professor Wacław Mulak.
